Nothing prepared me for the bitterness Never imagined the extent that you would go to I still cannot fathom why. Why did you lie when I was always there for you? You know that time in your life when you look back at the days gone by and wonder whether you really did the crazy things that you did, and laugh unabashedly. But when you realize how far you have come in more ways than one, you may even ponder over why you settled for a vanilla life. I have reached that stage today, and here is why I believe that I have become too darn boring. For instance, I get really excited at buying socks instead of opting for something slinky. Or when it is time to go out and shop what really gets me going are discounts in the veggie or fruit section! Also, given the fact that I don’t even need to get out and get my groove on, in the aisles of the food court, the online route seems so much cooler. So, I was reading this book where you don’t give a rat’s ass about a host of opinions. The book made me sit up and realize that we tend to worry about the opinions of everyone. I too was a part of this brigade let me tell you, I used to wonder about what A’s opinion was about and Z’s opinion was about that I pretty much got lost in translation. So, I decided to junk being bothered about people’s opinions about me, because let’s face it, they are entitled to their points of view. I am entitled not to be bothered about their points of view. No doubt this is an ongoing battle. Some people are so darn opinionated and passionately so with a supercilious attitude that I am foxed at having to deal with them at any given time. I choose to ignore them. As far as I am concerned, their opinions are just that – their opinions. I am entitled to my own and if my gut says to refrain from being in negative company, I follow that gut. It has never let me down except when I am amidst anything chocol...

I guess most of us women go through this on a daily basis. On the global canvas mansplaining has become the norm, heck it has been the norm for centuries – we are just calling it like it is today! Let's say, for instance, we want a facelift for the kitchen, most professionals roped in to do the job are men. I have no problem with that, but some of them do. While they are enthused that a woman wants a change in the kitchen, they expect the man of the house to show up and take over once the ‘suggestions’ have been noted. What a bunch of crock! The chauvinistic ones believe that women cannot decisions because of limited testosterone. They mansplain terminologies, ever so slowly like women cannot comprehend fast enough! There is considerable negativity in our churches today. While many feel compelled to say something, a good number prefer to stay mum, some prefer to pray. But there are a great number of us who do not think twice about criticizing the church. And so it goes like this.
