I have come across many older people who are being treated rather shabbily by their children. Don’t you find it really disgusting that the very people who are applauded as good humanitarians in society are downright nasty to their aging parents? Far be it from me to get self righteous and all that, but seriously what gives? Sure, there are many senior citizens who are selfish and manipulative, but I’m not venturing there. This post is for all my older friends who are being treated so badly that all they long for is to rest in peace. Many of us are of the opinion that senior citizens are not very interesting, boring, annoying, slow, etc. But when you get rid of these preconceived notions and sit down to have a chat with them, you would be pleasantly surprised. Still Meandering...

“I have the runs, I have a cough, I have a cold, feel a fever coming on, acute body ache…” A constant for the past few weeks from so many friends, acquaintances, clients, business associates, relatives, domestic help, etc… With this being the “greeting” across the divide I guess the bug is really doing the rounds. Many of us in our ivory towers believe (actually hope) that we are gonna be spared, until the darn thing comes calling. Trying to ignore this pest we reel under pressure when it attacks, pop the pill and hope that we get better soon. The worst part is when there is an important meeting, wedding, travel, and you are bogged down with this discomfort. Under no circumstance can you avoid this, you have to just follow the doc’s protocol, sip a hot cuppa and hope to be up and about soon. However, what I really love when I’m sick is the fuss, pampering, concern and general TLC that I get. When I do get better, yeah I’m kinda raring to go, but miss out on all the drama. H
