Arrival of the Fittest

Why do we let the negative far outweigh the positive in our day to day lives? I have donned my thinking cap for years on end about this divide wondering why we are biased in our attitude of success and so called failure. Do we have a right to gauge an individual’s disappointment or success by our definition of the term? Sure society as a whole is dynamic and the need to “arrive” so to speak in every facet of life is an inherent trait. Needless to say we enjoy the lure of fancy things and have a pressing need to devour the item; however, if we do not have the means we really need to move on and refrain from acquiring something out of the budget. Why get into debt? This is a never ending debate that doesn’t yield any result, but don’t you think we need to place more importance on individual values being the finer things in life rather than the articles of ‘value’ that we have bought or let ourselves be bought by?
