Does it pay to settle scores with people who really don’t want to be a part of one’s life? Sometime ago, I received a call from a very close friend who was sobbing uncontrollably. Drove across to meet her and I was disappointed to hear that her family, who she loved, was treating her like a misfit. “Misfit? Why?” I asked. “Actually I don’t know if that is the word. They are so into themselves that I would rather not award them names,” she cried bitterly. Knowing how much she had done for her family and relatives I was really disgusted at their attitude.
