Much Ado About Something

There is this myth that keeps doing the rounds - women who are padded do not make good business choices. But this is just that isn’t it, a myth. The fact of the matter is that women are not only good at balancing the beam at home but at the office too. The concept that a plus sized individual cannot handle this because she is um… plump just does not cut it. What gives I wonder that makes many believe this falsehood. Let us demystify this constant dribble that a person who is heavier has to work extra hard. Is this right, or is it? Darn it, it really doesn’t say much for us plus sized many does it? Another problem is shopping for clothes. When we visit a clothing house, the pretty stuff is always allotted for the size zeros or the ones slightly above that range. Anyone who is a size 12 and above is considered to be ‘not with it’ and the range of colors on offer are black, dark blue, grey, beige, or anything that spells boring . What is it with us – when we travel to foreign shores we follow the rule of the land, keep our surroundings clean, never litter, do not spit, refrain from urinating in public, but once we are back in our homeland we forget all the rules. If only this practice continues in our country, we wouldn’t have to deal with the menace of illness or a grubby façade. The fact remains, that we take our surroundings for granted and do not think twice when we throw a wrapper out the window while driving. I noticed something quite sickening a couple of weeks ago and have been following it to the day. A woman was sweeping the front of her house, or rather the maid was doing so, and she didn’t think anything of shoving the debris in front of her neighbor’s place. I noticed this every day until the place piled up with leaves, and people started dropping packets of garbage in front of the gentleman’s place.
