Pathway

We came across a young boy weeping bitterly on our daily walk He appeared to be in his teens with raggedy jeans and a tee split halfway Using the cape of discomfort we walked on ignoring him But his sobs brought us back to his seat We inquired after him with a gentleness that overshadowed our initial falter And what we saw was despair and fear… but also something else – hope He sensed …care Sobbing that his life was a mess and things were crazy bad We sat down and tried to understand his pain It’s a long story he told us that would take a lifetime to explain “Knowing that there are people who care, I know that hope is out there” We shook his big warm hands and gave him an encouraging hug And were rewarded with tears again – but this time they were of happiness and peace He knew we cared… We went our way and he went his - we never crossed paths again But from that day on our lives have been blessed and situations turned around Not with monetary grandeur o
