Unarmed and scared she peeked under the hood Hoping her tormenter would not awake She watched the rise and fall as he breathed Taking a chance she moved slowly towards the front door Opening one bolt at a time to get out of hell Freeing the last lock she heaved a sigh of relief But chanced a look at the man sleeping noisily Was she doing the right thing? He was the love of her life… The father of her children… Her happy ever after… With tears streaming down her cheeks she escaped …and ran towards freedom Her children’s relieved faces said it all
