They tell me to count my steps
I count them every day
I walk up the stairs
I count them
Ponder over steps I forgot to count
Get dismayed
Will start the next day

They say there are apps that count steps
Download them they say
Buy a contraption it measures the distance they say
Measures the duration
Measures the burned calories
I listen to them
Download the app instead
Walk, walk faster, walk slower, walk faster, jog, run, stroll
Breathe heavily
Shallow breathing
Sweating
You get the drift
The app records the steps

Need to burn the fat
Need to tone down
Cut back on greasy stuff
No sweets
Wine is fine
Gonna walk the talk
I don’t want to tank the resolution (2019’s flavor)

Here’s a problem about the water scene that’s plaguing our city with the authorities taking a lackadaisical attitude about our woeful situation. Happy Birthday Mama Mary

I sit here thumping away on the keyboard wondering about what to write and it dawns on me…… Many years ago when I was a young girl I was approached by a lady in Church to play the role of Mother Mary. She wanted to put up this enactment about the apparition of Mary to a group of children. I did not know who the person was and was surprised - my first thought was to decline as I was extremely shy. However, she did not pressurize me and instead asked me to think about it and after doing so and sharing it with the folks, I accepted the role. This play went on for about fifteen minutes but they were the best moments of my life. Many years have gone by…but this wonderful memory remains with me always. However, I feel sad at the number of people who do not acknowledge Our Lady. Jesus said “Son this is your mother and mother this is your son” and thus we embrace Mary as our blessed mother. Cheating

Why do people throw good relationships for a quick roll in the hay? This practice seems to be growing and practically every second person in a committed relationship doesn’t think twice about two timing his/her partner. However, when they are “found out” these individuals don’t think twice about promising the moon and once forgiven you can be pretty sure that they are gonna do (sic) the deed again and again. I think that once they go the entire hog, they just aren’t gonna curb their enthusiasm! Cheaters know their partners will relent no matter what. They preen themselves with having “won”! However, if a person cheats on me, I would tell the jerk to beat it. Rather be single, keep your dignity intact than stick with some douche bag. Not my cuppa … What about you my lovelies?

Beginning of the End?

A short story here... Just read and let me know what you think? I haven't concluded the story just going with the flow. The erratic nature of the power supply left the entire city in the lurch and this seemed to be a frequent occurrence. In spite of pleadings to curb global warming people paid no heed to the warnings and this brought about the swarm …. The beginning was when the entire country was wiped out in darkness and stampedes all over going on well into the night. Headlights of passing vehicles were the only source of light as generators were giving way because of the scarcity of fuel available. Every living being was being held hostage because of the “no power and no water” adage. No rainfall = less electricity = no water = no produce = malnutrition. The Price of Public Humiliation

Two-Faced You know there are people who claim to be pals just to look cool. I had this conversation with a close friend who couldn’t understand why a couple of her Facebook friends ignored her in person. After our chat, it finally dawned on her that the so called friends just wanted a long list to appear hip. She updated her status and vented her frustration. An amusing story here - the same people who ignored her added their two bits about public humiliation and gave it the thumbs down signal. Weird don't you think? Plastic Smiles How would you like it if relatives followed the same principle? In public spaces they turn away pretending they do not know you leaving you dumbfounded.
