A considerable number of people are of the belief that they have the right to mock anyone because, apparently, it suits their discourse. When the roles are reversed, they will cry hoarse at the injustice! Taking potshots at someone may appear to be cool, but constant nitpicking is quite ridiculous. Since this seems to be the way forward, certain people prefer to tear reputations to shreds. It helps them reach the precipice of glory that they would never reach, even in their wildest dreams. Hence, the reason why it makes perfect sense for them to go gung-ho and mock someone/anyone, for the heck of it.
Once an idea is promoted, mob mentality through a weird hypnotic hue takes over and becomes a constant. It is quite strange to note that even smart folk fall into this strange rut. I suppose, we live in a time where ridicule has become a famous word. Talking nonsensical garbage about someone without the facts is a way to garner brownie points.
There has been nastiness across the board with people from all walks of life indulging in pettiness. Believing that this is the way forward, some people stick to the rhetoric with the perception that this newfound aura will help carve a niche for them, which is almost theatrical. I suppose the fifteen minutes of flame induced fame eggs them along to accomplish something that they never perceived was possible.
This is life, today. Sad, but true.
