Agree to Disagree

I woke up this morning with a chipper mood and a spring in my step. Got the walking gear out and started the exercise regime in full gusto enjoying the quiet solitude of the early morning. But my happiness was brought to an end by the incessant fights and squabbles around me. A couple of hours later, sitting in my quiet space, I’m so glad that I have this corner to come home to!

But at the desk of thought, I wonder…..

Why do we agree to disagree?

We reach out to help one another but when things don’t go the way we want it to, well, we crib. What happens when acceptance is not fraught with control and love takes precedence? Perhaps then we can let the ego take a hike and enjoy the other person in spite of his/her idiosyncrasies. Man is by no means infallible. As the tenets of RET that was drilled many years ago to me - man is a fallible being. If and when we realize this, then we mistake making mortals can be happy with our surroundings and enjoy the toast albeit how burnt it is!

So have a good day my lovelies. Don’t let any dismal weather get you down. Life is meant for living the way you want to, not the ways others choose to. If you do, then you are not living the life that God has provided for you. You become a slave to another person's choice for existence. So go out there, smell the roses, coffee and what have you, and yeah enjoy every waking moment of your precious life and smile along the way. Frowns create wrinkles anyways!

Beginning of the End?

A short story here... Just read and let me know what you think? I haven't concluded the story just going with the flow. The erratic nature of the power supply left the entire city in the lurch and this seemed to be a frequent occurrence. In spite of pleadings to curb global warming people paid no heed to the warnings and this brought about the swarm …. The beginning was when the entire country was wiped out in darkness and stampedes all over going on well into the night. Headlights of passing vehicles were the only source of light as generators were giving way because of the scarcity of fuel available. Every living being was being held hostage because of the “no power and no water” adage. No rainfall = less electricity = no water = no produce = malnutrition. Cheating

Why do people throw good relationships for a quick roll in the hay? This practice seems to be growing and practically every second person in a committed relationship doesn’t think twice about two timing his/her partner. However, when they are “found out” these individuals don’t think twice about promising the moon and once forgiven you can be pretty sure that they are gonna do (sic) the deed again and again. I think that once they go the entire hog, they just aren’t gonna curb their enthusiasm! Cheaters know their partners will relent no matter what. They preen themselves with having “won”! However, if a person cheats on me, I would tell the jerk to beat it. Rather be single, keep your dignity intact than stick with some douche bag. Not my cuppa … What about you my lovelies?

Remote Rehab Watchers

What really annoys the sibling, are the soaps and serials I’m hooked onto. She’s like ‘why can’t you watch something informative instead of the usual jazz’ that I (supposedly) watch. What can I say - I’m a couch potato and love the title. She waits for a while and once she notices I am away from the remote she pounces and grabs it. I was too slow for that one! I hate this situation. Makes me feel so helpless, but I have to stay put otherwise you know the drill. She’ll fight and I will retort and cold shoulder treatment for a while. The poor sucker (the remote here) will have to face the wrath. I placate myself with the ‘anyway we have another television’ so I rush towards it and see the remote in the hands of the other sibling. I never win! But I have a new idea I will hide the remotes so that they don’t put me in this situation ever again.
