Acceptance

The choice that was made they had to accept

But sometimes wonder – “why did we take this step”?

It’s lonely and depressing without the other they claim

But drifting apart was frankly no one’s blame.


So how and where do they go on from here?

With hard cold reality - a chill, a tearful fear

Wearing on a mask and being the court jester has its drawbacks

Because there are absolutely no kickbacks

Smile is what they choose to follow and resist the cry....

Gazing in space with pitiful wonder - O when o when will life pass us by?
