Where is the Remote?

Nothing really of consequence here but I am really wondering about our voyeuristic tendencies. Have you noticed an upswing in terms of reality shows that we are bestowed with on varied television channels? Frankly the idea of following a cheating partner on national television and witnessing them getting it on with another ain’t my cup of tea. But people who participate in reality shows know the pros and cons but we the viewers decide to criticize them and get all moralistic. If the TRP’s (television rating points) are up so be it we have a choice watch the program or don’t the remote is in our hands. We need to get a life and let them live theirs, real or reel.

Also the fiasco about a married couple who weren’t married but who were, then a wrong name and then something else ... my head is buzzing… Why does this bit of news appear so interesting that it becomes the topic of conversation keeping us on our toes so that we are up-to-date with the … will they won’t they???

Then the golf player who is gonna work his magic on the golf course, what happens to him? Mistakes people make in the public eye have empowered us the judgmental millions the right to tear them apart. Sucks! Don’t we make mistakes? Why rake up old hurts just so that we get our jollies? None of us are infallible…

Beginning of the End?

A short story here... Just read and let me know what you think? I haven't concluded the story just going with the flow. The erratic nature of the power supply left the entire city in the lurch and this seemed to be a frequent occurrence. In spite of pleadings to curb global warming people paid no heed to the warnings and this brought about the swarm …. The beginning was when the entire country was wiped out in darkness and stampedes all over going on well into the night. Headlights of passing vehicles were the only source of light as generators were giving way because of the scarcity of fuel available. Every living being was being held hostage because of the “no power and no water” adage. No rainfall = less electricity = no water = no produce = malnutrition. Cheating

Why do people throw good relationships for a quick roll in the hay? This practice seems to be growing and practically every second person in a committed relationship doesn’t think twice about two timing his/her partner. However, when they are “found out” these individuals don’t think twice about promising the moon and once forgiven you can be pretty sure that they are gonna do (sic) the deed again and again. I think that once they go the entire hog, they just aren’t gonna curb their enthusiasm! Cheaters know their partners will relent no matter what. They preen themselves with having “won”! However, if a person cheats on me, I would tell the jerk to beat it. Rather be single, keep your dignity intact than stick with some douche bag. Not my cuppa … What about you my lovelies?

Remote Rehab Watchers

What really annoys the sibling, are the soaps and serials I’m hooked onto. She’s like ‘why can’t you watch something informative instead of the usual jazz’ that I (supposedly) watch. What can I say - I’m a couch potato and love the title. She waits for a while and once she notices I am away from the remote she pounces and grabs it. I was too slow for that one! I hate this situation. Makes me feel so helpless, but I have to stay put otherwise you know the drill. She’ll fight and I will retort and cold shoulder treatment for a while. The poor sucker (the remote here) will have to face the wrath. I placate myself with the ‘anyway we have another television’ so I rush towards it and see the remote in the hands of the other sibling. I never win! But I have a new idea I will hide the remotes so that they don’t put me in this situation ever again.
