Acceptance

The choice that was made they had to accept But sometimes wonder – “why did we take this step”? It’s lonely and depressing without the other they claim But drifting apart was frankly no one’s blame. So how and where do they go on from here? With hard cold reality - a chill, a tearful fear Wearing on a mask and being the court jester has its drawbacks Because there are absolutely no kickbacks Smile is what they choose to follow and resist the cry.... Gazing in space with pitiful wonder - O when o when will life pass us by?

Agree to Disagree

I woke up this morning with a chipper mood and a spring in my step. Got the walking gear out and started the exercise regime in full gusto enjoying the quiet solitude of the early morning. But my happiness was brought to an end by the incessant fights and squabbles around me. A couple of hours later, sitting in my quiet space, I’m so glad that I have this corner to come home to! But at the desk of thought, I wonder….. Why do we agree to disagree? We reach out to help one another but when things don’t go the way we want it to, well, we crib. What happens when acceptance is not fraught with control and love takes precedence? Perhaps then we can let the ego take a hike and enjoy the other person in spite of his/her idiosyncrasies. Man is by no means infallible. As the tenets of RET that was drilled many years ago to me - man is a fallible being. If and when we realize this, then we mistake making mortals can be happy with our surroundings and enjoy the toast albeit how bur...

Grim

The situation is grim with drains filled up to the brim All laden with filth with nary a care to how they were built! Incessant rains drowning children; their cries a mere mumble While the roaring tide in the storm water drain eats away at their membrane. When will the authorities in office take note? And do something, anything - not just the vote Honor the commitment you preached and had us endorsing ……………or the people may not tolerate the endless bossing!

Favors Anyone?

Was watching the program "We the People" on NDTV some time ago and I must say the topic was rather interesting and informative. For the past few months, I have been plagued with stories about the subject. One such person (have permission to let you in on this)was being harassed by his superior. The person who I speak about is a happily married man. His superior was on his case from the third month on the job and until he performed sexual favors his life was hell. Well cut to the chase, he refused and resigned. His struggles were far from over as bad reference checks made it next to impossible for him to land a job. Finally after a long time, he was able to get something suitable and I must say, he is flourishing in his career. Another situation, when a female employee had to dance to the bidding of her superior. She refused and tried her best to make sure that she was out of harm’s way for a good two years, until it became impossible for her to continue working. The job...

Whiney... Clingy - Run

Sometime ago I met with a person who seemed to have an insurmountable number of woeful tales about her life (supposedly). Well, I was taken in and gave the individual a considerable amount of time and help until I realized that I was being stiffed. Needless to say, I have learned my lesson, tossed the wannabe outta my circuit and am so much better off. I wouldn’t want to do into depth here, but look out for these traits exhibited by this kind of personality: • They exhibit innocence or ignorance across issues throwing the floor for you to ‘assist’ them • Believe they are being tormented (uh uh) • They are extremely clingy • Very whiney - they crib about everything – your ears will ring and head spin • Demand your time • All-in-all a nuisance If you do come across such people, I would suggest you run a mile. They “smell” your aura and will make it a point to get to you. Sure I ain’t an expert on these personality types… just wanted to share these pointers with ...

Unconditional Love

I feel love every time I look and think of you And thank God for the bond that we share If only you knew it little girl, that the times we spend together Make my difficulties fly soooo far away. While we share a natter observing the trees around us Ever so green and lush with the flowers gleaming with pride And you potter about planting a seedling in a new place And look at me with a shy loving gaze. Cooking for you is such a joy - with the merriment in your eyes... So longing for the big juicy choco prize! I guess you really want this to be a private one But nope not this time my little one, Coz I wanna share our love with the world at large I really love being your godmother and sometimes your charge!

Its all Blag....

Ah the mango season, brings about a twinkle in the eyes of the ardent mango devotee! The pushcarts are laden with various kinds and the ‘specialist’ really knows which one to pick. On a visit recently with the doctor (who is a real chatterbox I must say) he went on about the positives about the fruit. Encouraging us to try the different varieties, one could not help noticing his love for the fruit - so unlike the others who never really advocate gorging on this yummy fruit. His advice was to weigh each fruit in our hands - the lighter the mango the lousier the fruit. Thanks doc, I followed the advice and must say the suggestion has certainly made us a happy lot with heavier silhouettes! I had visited him for an allergy attack ….. Chatterbox of a doctor, but the advice on the fruit was useful, and yeah the allergy is kinda taking a breather. Whew or what? It was really annoying to wake up one fine day and notice something strange - my lips were enormous – no collagen implants ...
