Offbeat Perhaps

This time around have decided to write about something rather offbeat, hope that’s o.k. with you? Having come across varied thought patterns across the spectrum, I would like to bring you up to speed on my take of the anger quotient. This is my copy write (yeah pun intended). Warning:not for the fainthearted! How do we get angry (talking verbal here people) Well there is no sure fire way here. No rules to this one. Just follow the emotions and you are good to go Once you reach the ideal, stay put and don’t let your guard down. Ever! Having established your reason for the emotive subject, your objective is to keep on at it, go on give into it and never cease Rant and rave and frankly go with the flow. Any form of destructive behavior will do. Don’t give up the fight. Remember the idea is to outweigh your opponent verbally and any ranting and raving is acceptable! So why did you get angry? After the initial outburst, can’t be bothered about how you reached here,...

Aunty... what the.....?

I was brought back to reality sometime ago, when a sales girl at a departmental store had the nerve to call me 'aunty’-a salutation my nieces scoff at, considering they think that I’m the same age as them! Ignoring her (with the hope that she was addressing somebody else) I went about stacking up the grocery cart meekly adding anti-aging lotion to the list, paid the bill and got out of there as fast as my short legs could. On reaching home immensely irritated and feeling sorry for myself slapped on the lotion and let artificiality take over. Frankly, I don’t believe in all these creams and lotions but was drawn into this vortex of “bought” youth. A week goes by… I peer at the mirror and notice that I’m beginning to look a tad fairer if you may but nothing earth shattering! I then slap on more gunk …. and wait…and wait… and wait… Day 30 Nah nothing! I then decide that the product that I have been using has too many chemicals and jump on the herbal bandwagon, go vegetarian...

Arrival of the Fittest

Why do we let the negative far outweigh the positive in our day to day lives? I have donned my thinking cap for years on end about this divide wondering why we are biased in our attitude of success and so called failure. Do we have a right to gauge an individual’s disappointment or success by our definition of the term? Sure society as a whole is dynamic and the need to “arrive” so to speak in every facet of life is an inherent trait. Needless to say we enjoy the lure of fancy things and have a pressing need to devour the item; however, if we do not have the means we really need to move on and refrain from acquiring something out of the budget. Why get into debt? This is a never ending debate that doesn’t yield any result, but don’t you think we need to place more importance on individual values being the finer things in life rather than the articles of ‘value’ that we have bought or let ourselves be bought by? Heard this quote once : “Life is a present and we need to embr...

Today

Wouldn’t want to bore you with me ranting and raving about the unending water hassle that we are experiencing, so will move on from here. Spoke with a lady earlier today, poor thing had a mastectomy a couple of months ago on one breast to eradicate all traces of the cancer cells. Now she seems to be plagued with eczema as well and her leg is rather bad. Really hope that she gets back on her feet and back to her normal self. Get well soon! My rather close friend has moved to another city and I so miss her. We used to chat practically every day on the phone - land line mind you coz she just hates the cell and doesn’t like to chat online as well. Miss you! Have been advised to take a break from the computer with carpel tunnel syndrome rearing its attack yet again. Just when we think we have a good thing going other tunnel appears. Pah! However, under the advice of a wise and learned relative have been attending to this irritation with Epsom salts, warming up the inflamed...

Water Woe

Here’s a problem about the water scene that’s plaguing our city with the authorities taking a lackadaisical attitude about our woeful situation. Guess privatization of this inactive force needs to be the hour of the day. What say? The heat at this time of the year in Feb is rather pinching and I really wonder what it’s gonna be like in the coming months. Here’s hoping that some rain will give us a breather and in consequence fill the reservoirs and enable the water man to actually attend to our ardent need. Moving on from the tale of gloom, with the onset of summer it’s time for the sleek and svelte to don the most happening items in vogue and show off their splendid bods. To the rest of us metabolically slow, we trudge the path of heat with the longing that this brand of ‘exercise’ (or lack of it) would shed the unwanted girth! Anyways, it’s a good time I guess both ways, coz everyone maybe a winner because..........the heat is on! ....... but not the ones with lack of water...

In Response to......

So the earlier one was about the free glow of the chocolate splendor. However, when contacted by a rather earnest follower wondering about my lack of tolerance for the other indulgence, decided to let you on a little secret (not so anymore) that both pleasures are good for my endomorphic bodily conduct. With that out of the way, here’s hoping that we all get it on... and then some? Shed the fat retain the glow!

The Indulgence of Chocolate

The sheer pleasure I experience every time I make chocolate brings about a slightly (uh uh) giddy demeanor to my otherwise relative stern appearance. When I indulge in my favorite pass time making home-made chocolate, just watching the swivel and swirl of the bubbling chocolate melting away and intermingling with the rest of the ingredients is sheer ecstasy and this emotion has many a time reflected on my face. Perhaps shocks the strait laced around me! Watching the bubbles go at it is the ultimate pleasure but waiting for the product to set is pure torture… Why doesn’t time fly now? This blaze of glory sitting ever so pretty enticing the weak hearted has made me a good many times bow down gracefully and succumb to its wonder. Needless to say, many well thought out diet plans have been tossed aside and the flirtatious nature of the product is to blame! People figure that chocolate is an aphrodisiac, but that ain’t on my mind when I go full gusto and experience the rapture and char...
